What is Boba?
Boba is the black sweetened tapioca pearls that usually come at the bottom of our drinks, not the drink itself. Boba is made of tapioca starch. It is made into a dough and cooked to a nice chewy texture then sweetened. At Mini Moo’s we use dark brown sugar to sweeten our boba and a secret special cook to ensure a soft but squishy, thoroughly sweet tapioca pearl for every drink.
Do we offer delivery or pick up?
We now offer delivery on UberEats, Grub Hub and Doordash! We do also offer pick-up but only for orders over four drinks. To place a to-go order, simply call into the teashop and place your order with one of our baristas.
Can I buy a cup of boba only?
We do offer full cups of boba for our boba addicts. You are able to purchase any of our add-ins in a full cup without the drink. Simply ask our baristas for a full cup of the add-in of your choice.
Does boba contain gluten?
Boba is gluten-free! Tapioca is derived from Cassava Root which is often used for gluten-free alternatives. Not all of our drinks are gluten-free so be sure to double-check with our baristas for a specific drink.
Do our drinks contain caffeine?
Some of our drinks do contain caffeine. Most of the milk teas are made with black tea and our iced teas come with a black tea or green tea base. If you were looking for a decaf milk tea, some of our milk teas are made with a water base instead and are marked on our menu for your convenience. Our Snows and Slushies are also caffeine-free (with the exclusion of the obvious ones like coffee, iced mocha, and matcha).
What is a Snow Bubble?
A Snow Bubble is a creamy slushy with your choice of flavor. They are made with a Non-Dairy Creamer (for more info about that in question below) a flavor of your choice and in some cases sugar.
Do the drinks contain dairy?
This is not a simple answer question. Most of our creamy drinks are made with a Non-Dairy creamer. Many of our employees are lactose intolerant and have never been irritated by the creamer. However, it is a milk derivative so if you are vegan or have a dairy allergy please inform our barista so we can be sure to get you a fully dairy-free drink. We do offer milk substitutes and if you wish to see the full list it is under the customization menu.
What do we use to sweeten our drinks?
The sweetener used differs for each drink. However, at Mini Moo’s we strive to use real sugar and give our customers options for different sweetener options. All added sugar in every drink is white or dark brown sugar (no fructose!) and some of our drinks are sweetened and flavored with either a syrup or a real fruit jam.
Can you mix flavors?
If you are looking to mix flavors for your drink, you have come to the right place! Unlike most other teashops, we encourage mixing! You are free to mix any flavors you want in the Snows, Slushies, and Iced Teas. As for the milk teas, some mixes will not be able to be made so be sure to ask one of our baristas if you are curious about a specific mix.
However, we cannot guarantee that all flavor mixes will taste good (lavender lemon is not advised).
Can you get a hot milk tea?
Of course! Be sure to ask for your milk tea hot as we do assume that all drinks are iced unless otherwise specified. Hot milk teas can hit the spot on a chilly day.
What is a Milk Tea?
Milk tea is one of the more traditional ways to enjoy boba in a drink. It is a creamy drink over ice, usually with a black tea base. A perfect example of a milk tea is a Chai Tea Latte or a London Fog Latte. You can get the more traditional options or try one of our flavored milk teas.
Some of our milk teas come with a water base and are caffeine-free! If you are interested in those, they are marked on our milk tea menu for your convenience.
Does boba come with every drink?
Boba and all of our other add-ins do not come with a drink. Because we have many different options and not everyone wants add-ins, all of our drinks do not have boba included.
Is Boba vegan?
Boba pearls themselves are vegan. It does depend on the drink that you do get as to if the whole drink will be vegan.
Are the drinks vegan?
Not all of our drinks or vegan. Some of our drinks are made with a Non-Dairy creamer but it does contain a milk derivative. If you want any of our milk teas or snows we do have milk alternatives but not all flavors can be made due to the powder being the flavoring. If you have a specific flavor in mind, simply ask one of our baristas. Any of our iced teas or slushies are going to be 100% vegan.
Are there vegetarian and vegan food options?
We do have food options for our vegan & vegetarian boba addicts! We offer veggie egg rolls as well as tofu or veggie spring rolls.
Do we have decaf tea or coffee?
Unfortunately, we do not offer decaf coffee or decaf versions of our coffee drinks. However, we do have some caffeine-free tea drinks like our Strawberry Butterfly Lemonade. Most of our drinks are made with either green tea or black tea and do contain caffeine. If you were wanting a caffine-free milk tea, some of our milk teas come as a water base.
